In November 2016, the voters in School District 181 approved a referendum to build a new Middle School at the current site, 100 S. Garfield.  The School District and the Village believe that there is an opportunity to build a parking deck that would both serve the school’s parking needs and address the lack of available parking in the Village’s Central Business District.

The Village held a public meeting at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, February 21 to discuss the parking deck.  The deck was also included on the agenda for the Village Board meeting of February 21, at 7:30 PM, which immediately followed the public meeting.  A resolution approving a parking deck with 189 total spaces is anticipated to be scheduled on the March 7 Village Board Agenda.
