Rep. Casten voted to pass the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, a $480 billion interim funding bill to support small businesses, hospitals, and nationwide COVID testing. The President is expected to sign this bill soon. This additional funding includes a $310 billion increase to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and an additional $60 billion for Economic Impact Disaster Loans (EIDL). Another $7 billion was provided for hospitals and health workers, and $25 billion for nationwide testing.
To assist our small businesses and nonprofits here in the 6th Congressional District of Illinois, Rep. Casten will host a Webinar on Saturday, 4/25, at 12:00 pm CT. Your members can register for this webinar here. SBA District Director Robert Steiner will be on hand with Rep. Casten to answer questions. Please share this information with your membership as you think appropriate.
Rep. Casten’s office is strongly encouraging small businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations and other eligible entities to prepare all appropriate documentation so that they are ready to apply for the Paycheck Protection Program as soon as it reopens. Funds are expected to again go quickly, and interested applicants should contact their lender to ensure they are prepared to take full advantage of the opportunity.
