To All Village of Hinsdale Community Members:

Although the Shelter-in-place Executive Order is still in effect through May 30, the Governor’s most recent Executive Order does allow for the restricted and gradual opening of golf courses and certain recreational activites.  Below are changes that the Village of Hinsdale will be instituting starting May 1:

Park Green Spaces-Will remain open for use. Park users are asked to maintain adequate social distance of at least six (6) feet, and are not to gather in groups outside of those other than their own household. Face coverings are not required, but are highly recommended.

KLM Dog Hours- Will reopen, however all dog owners are required to maintain adequate social distancing of at least six (6) feet.  Face coverings are not required, but are highly recommended.  A reminder that per ordinance, no more than 2 dogs are permitted per handler. All other ordinance guidelines apply and can be found here.

KLM Disc Golf- Will reopen, participants are asked to play in groups of no more than two (2) while maintaining adequate social distancing of at least six (6) feet. Players are required to pace themselves at a timed distance of 15 minutes between holes when following other players. Players are not required to a face covering, but it is highly recommended.

Village Tennis, Platform Tennis, and Pickleball Courts: Will reopen, participants are asked to play in groups of no more than two (2) per court, while maintaining adequate social distancing of at least six (6) feet. Players are not required to a face covering, but it is highly recommended. Additional guidelines can be found here.

Village Playgrounds and Basketball Courts: Will remain closed at this time. Due to the close contact and heavy use of these spaces adequate social distancing and sanitation are unable to be easily enforced. The Village hopes to be able to reopen these spaces after May 30th.

Please help keep our community safe and healthy by abiding by the guidelines listed above. Violation of these guidelines may results in further restrictions or closure of spaces. This continues to be a rapidly developing situation and we will adjust our plans as needed to adhere with required orders.  Updates will be posted on the Village website and can also be found on Parks & Rec social media and, through email communications.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have questions, please contact the Parks & Recreation Office at 630-789-7091 or at parkrec@villageofhinsdale.org

 Sincerely,

The Village of Hinsdale Parks & Recreation Department
