Hinsdale's Small Business Saturday on November 25 Sets the Stage for ‘Golden Ticket’ Program: All Ages Invited to Join the Festive Fun Starting December 4!

The excitement of the holiday shopping season is fast approaching.  This season, the Village of Hinsdale and Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce are partnering to expand the holiday experience and to encourage residents and visitors to shop and dine local.

Small Business Saturday is Saturday, November 25, and supporting Hinsdale’s small businesses on that day and throughout the holiday season is critical to maintaining the vitality of the Village. 

Take advantage of 150 Years of Hinsdale for the Holidays as the Village continues its Sesquicentennial Celebration with magical and festive experiences that incorporate a historic train theme in honor of the train line that has been central to the Village’s growth over the years.



Get your Golden Ticket and Shop Local!

Residents and visitors are invited to participate in Hinsdale’s Golden Ticket program throughout the holiday season.  The concept is simple and exciting: we aim to foster community spirit by encouraging shoppers to visit participating local stores and get their ticket punched when a sale is made and/or at the businesses discretion. One punch is equivalent to one raffle ticket. Participating shoppers can submit their golden ticket with 1 or more punches for a chance to win a special raffle prize. The more punches shoppers get the better their chance to win a raffle prize. Raffle prizes will vary, but are themed around gift cards and / or items from participating local business. This event is open to all ages, making it a truly inclusive community celebration.

Golden tickets can be picked up at any participating businesses, Village Hall or the Library. The program will run from Dec 4-22. Shoppers will have to drop off their ticket to Village Hall or the Library when they are ready to enter the raffle. After the Christmas, The Village will draw raffle prizes and contact winning shoppers directly.

Other special experiences include:

• Hinsdale Christmas Walk, visits with Santa, and Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 1 beginning at 5 p.m.
• Winter Wonderland in KLM Park from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on December 3;
• Horse drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa, and gingerbread cookie decorating in Burlington Park on December 9 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
• Painted and festive window displays;
• Lighted walk-through train for holiday picture taking
