The Village of Hinsdale Police and Fire Department’s Annual Open House will be held on Saturday, October 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Village’s Fire and Police Departments, 121 Symonds Drive. The theme for this year’s Open House is “Don’t Wait, Check the Date.” The key message of this year's campaign is to replace smoke alarms every 10 years, and represents the final year of a three-year effort to educate the public about the essential elements of smoke alarm safety.

Come join police officers and firefighters for an array of activities that the whole family can learn from and enjoy. Activities include demonstrations on various firefighting equipment, the fire safety trailer and interactive programs for children. The Fire Department will also conduct a simulated live burn to demonstrate the advantages of a residential sprinkler system. Police activities include a SWAT team demonstration, child fingerprinting, crime prevention programming, community notification tools, and specialized assignments and equipment within the Police Department. Police Department tours will also be conducted.
